(76,673 posts)I'm not one who has to have every album by the bands I like, especially if I hooked into them on later albums.
Not Mott though. I started on Dudes, but went back & bought the first 3, then the later 2, plus the live album.
I was a nut about those guys.

(11,836 posts)They were headlining. Second on the bill was Bachman Turner Overdrive.
Opening the show was an up-and-coming band from Boston called Aerosmith.

(76,673 posts)...the opening act was, wait for it,........
KANSAS!
It was supposed to be Queen but they had to cancel touring when Brian May contracted hepatitis.
It was a very odd pairing that night.

(76,673 posts)We didn't know of the change until they announced the opening act.
We were really looking forward to both acts.
Not that Kansas was bad. They were actually very good. But, not well received.
Then Kerry Livgren, after Belexes was met with a tepid reaction, said "I guess we should have worn our glitter underwear." That did not go well. They were booed after every song once that occurred. Angering the audience when one is the opening act is always a bad idea, I'd think.
