Yeah, I read that completely wrong. What got me confused was that for some reason I knew that wasn't Bill Withers, although it did have a throaty sound. I thought that perhaps you are a younger person who is not familiar with Bill Withers, and was seeking opinions on what people thought about him. Then you acknowledge that you are aware Bill Withers is a legend, but wanted to know how this recording sounded. I've then decided that you were seeking advice on the quality of the app. Finally, your third post made it clear what your purpose was. If you had simply stated in your OP that this was a friend of yours singing a Bill Withers song, what do you think of the voice?...... all of the confusion could have been avoided. 
Having said that, I think you should continue to encourage your friend to pursue singing. After listening to the recording again, I believe it would be well worth her while.
