They sort of look like it but I always thought they were found at elevation - above a couple thousand feet anyways.

But yes, they are lupines.

They are also the state flower of Texas.

also known as the Texas bluebonnet. It's a legume, i.e., a member of the pea family (Fabaceae or Leguminosae).

I was a bit surprised when Andy pulled over, and then I saw what he'd seen.

He's been an excellent host and I've gotten to see so many beautiful places because of that.

Lovely pics Ms CP. I need to get out and shoot some wildlife.

I'm also wanting to plant Blue Bonnets in my front yard. The city can't ask you to mow it!
