12. Fast shutter or flash. I use available outdoor light. So far! It's not easy.

I go out for flower photos and come back with bird photos.

4. Are we looking head on? If so is the bird missing a wing on the right side?

We are looking at the back end

I have another that I'll post later that is head-on.

Such photos are a bit disorienting, because the bill is their most prominent feature. Wings are always blurred due to motion. Only a fast shutter can still them. And they get out of that narrow focus as well.

We have a couple of feeders up on our patio, and I could sit out there and watch them all day long.

Just like chickens.... they have a definite established pecking order

15. Indeed! If they are hanging around, no need to photograph.

I usually see so few because they are usually at the neighbor's house, sipping that sugar water.

Right now, with hundreds of daisies, the pollen is irresistible and they're on my side.

I have to stick with wild flowers because deer eat everything else that's not fenced.
