This is the Munster at Ulm. The biggest church of its style.
They built it in hopes of getting a bishop so it would be a cathedral.
Didn't happen. But they have a great organ. And We got a serious heavy metal serenade
on the way up one time.
Great stair master work out to get within 60 feet of the top.

The old church and the replacement.

Inside with organ for scale

The original heavy metal

It is so tall you can see the curvature of the earth! (I know. it is lens distortion.)

Stone work for the spire.

Thank you for these photos.

before you go up. You have to pay a small fee. Then they have a sign that shows you how many steps to each of 3 levels. The top level is 768 steps. The last section is narrow. A wide person width so you get to squeeze by people going the other way. Those bells are loud if they go off when you are near them.
But the view...
