We now have better internet service, satellite through hughesnet. Faster than the phone company. (Original Post) George McGovern Oct 2022 OP
Wonderful, now Shadow can stream her favorite movies 🙂 MLAA Oct 2022 #1
Indeed MLAA. In fact, my wife got Shadow exposed audiovisually early on in puppyhood. George McGovern Oct 2022 #3

How fast is it? AndyS Oct 2022 #2
41.9 Mbps download 2.14 Mbps upload. I don't know what that means, Andy, but it's faster for sure! George McGovern Oct 2022 #4

I asked because we resize our contest entries to allow for slow speed connections like dial up (under 1mbps).

It takes at least 5mbps to stream Netflix (it buffers internally so your slow connection doesn't have to wait for signal). You need at least 10mbps to stream most other videos and it will buffer and freeze sometimes. I have 15mbps and everything works well except my smart tv which won't stream msnbc reliably. No problem with Lolcats, daily cartoons or any of the contest entries. Downloading software like PSP takes 15-20 minutes and it took 15 hours to upload just under a terabyte of pictures to the cloud. I'll get 100mbps in a month or so. Fiber comes to West Bumfukistan, TX at last! Thank ya, Biden!

I surveyed GD and nobody reported less than 25 and most were over 100. My 15mbps presents no problems so I think we can skip the resize step in contests. I'll poll the other hosts. Maybe I just did??
