they start crapping on your porch or try to break into your house looking for food. i have to be vigilant about keeping my doors closed. but, yeah, i love them.

one day i was out photographing them from the concrete walkway around my house (the forest starts just meters away) and with me standing right there, a couple of them walked right by me and were looking in through my screen door to see if there was food in the house (i guess) and then this happened...they were so close to me that they were almost within the closest focusing distance of the nikon 500mm PF lens.

I bet they can be a real nuisance sometimes. Probably pretty resourceful

Well, maybe a little. Otherwise, my husband might get cranky.

Joking aside, I could go a long time in the company of critters and not miss humans.

No serious landslides. Lake level the highest we’ve ever seen it. We live where we can watch the sail boarding and windsurfing.

A friend used to guide fishing tours here 30 years but said now no good fish.

We actually see few boats on the lake ever. Sadly.

I think more boats up by Fortuna… maybe.

...i know tilapia are cichlids but i thought the native cichlids were more aggressive and larger than tilapia. i thought you had guapote and peacock bass.

... but there are times when seeing the beauty and variations of Life, I often think to myself: God is Great! then there is another voice that corrects me: Goddess! Mother! Earth! Life! It is All Good.

Thank you for sharing these stunning photos.

Not Catholic but parents sent me to different Christian Bible schools every summer. It made me less of a believer each year.

In 1975 we wanted to get married outside. We could find only one Methodist that said okay. All the rest said married in Church or god wouldn’t be there.

But God was, right there at that outdoor wedding!!!

Edit to add: God had a great time.
