(14,889 posts)I just got back from Costa Rica. Too bad that I didn't see this thread earlier! I would have given you a shout-out!
You have a most beautiful country.
And here's my monkey photo, a capuchin monkey (I believe).

(9,859 posts)....what part of costa rica did you visit? what did you do while you were here?
here are a few capuchin shots of mine:

(14,889 posts)Oh gosh, we were all over; San Jose, Guanacaste, Monteverde, Arenal, Tortuguero National Park. It was a whirl-wind trip. Covered a lot of the country.

(9,859 posts)...what wildlife did you see in tortuguero? did you see any great green macaws there?
Callalily
(14,889 posts)As you know, wildlife is difficult to spot, especially for those of us that don't actually know what we are looking for, but we were lucky and saw: an anteater (in the trees), several sloths, several types of herons, other birds that I don't remember their names (I have a few photos, but birds were far away and images are small), monkeys, a caiman.
We did see green macaws flying overhead, although too far to take photos.
We did cover a lot of Costa Rica and think that we traveled approximately 900 miles.
It was an amazing trip - one that I'll never forget.

(9,859 posts)one thing about the tropical rain forest is that the place really comes alive at night. i don't know if you got a chance to go on any night tours or night hikes, but that is always mind blowing.
