1. How could we EVER be bored, my dear Gato? It's not possible with these photos.

They (the photos and the monkeys) are routine for you!

Not for us! Absolutely exotic and glorious.

Thank you for posting.

So, keep 'em coming. Maybe a video every once in a while too?

...and use it as a 4k video camera. hopefully in the coming months i'll have video to share with ya.

thanks for the kind words. while national geographics was the dream since i was a kid, i realize the quality of my images (aesthetically and technical) is not up to par with NG. not even close. but, i'm trying to get there. there are so many "knobs to turn", though and i don't know where to start. i'm stretched thin between trying to master sharp, clean images in the camera while simultaneously changing post production workflows to hone that skill as well. seems like when i "fix" one thing, i "break" another. and then there's the thing about learning how to make eye catching art instead of my usual clinical or documentary type images.

this weekend i threw in the towel and "quit" photography at least two times. but, here i am again.

At this point I'm bored with not making pictures. Weather here in N Texas is miserable (for me, YMMV). Highs in the 40s, windy and just uncomfortable while at the same time a singularly uninteresting time of year.

I've got the studio set up and have some subjects but lacking in motivation 'cause it's cold down there too (I live on the second floor).

Texas winters=blech.

More tropical stuff please!!

...when i lived in austin, it was sub-tropical and even if it got cold, it was nowhere near chicago cold and it was short lived. you'd get a soft freeze in february and then two days later it was 80 degrees and we were on the back porch in shorts and flip flops, drinking beer, looking at the frost damage to the palm fronds while butterflies and hummingbirds were buzzing by. it was kind of surreal.

next winter, you and peg need to meet up and fly down here for a week. you might not know this, but we have monkeys.
