Rare Otter Visitor To The Lake

First of all, these are VERY grainy pictures! Normally I wouldn't post such poor quality pics, but the sun had already set and there wasn't a whole lot of light left for the long lens. You take what nature gives you.

This is only the 2nd time seeing an otter in the nearly 6 years living here.

It seemed to really be enjoying its catch. They are so much fun to watch!

Anyway, enjoy them if you can get by the "noise" in the photos.

Love the fish in his mouth and the footprints in the snow. It’s like you say especially in winter you gotta take what you get. I think you did a great job with it. And I love the otters. We used to canoe in a pond downstate with cypress trees and the otters would come up beside the boat to play

The ice is really thin, and there are a lot of open water areas.

Good for the otter. He/she can fish in the open areas, then bring his/her catch onto the ice to eat.
