I grew up in upstate New York. Although I'd heard and read what an intriguing place it is, I never actually went there to hike or sight see. Next time I'm up in New York, Watkins Glen State Park is on my agenda.,

is delightful. I am lucky enough to own a small second home on Keuka Lake. I inherited it from my parents, who lived in Rochester.
Unfortunately, I live 700 miles away from it, so dont get there very often. We rent it out to cover the property and school taxes.

(6,819 posts)The Gorge Trail is serpentine, crossing Glen Creek at several points on stone-arch bridges and a suspension bridge which can be seen toward the top of the second photo. Well worth a visit if you're ever in the Northeast.
