Related: About this forumTook my camera out into the front yard
Have not taken a photo in months because sadly, my eyes will always remain hugely impaired, but summer allowed a few fun shots.
I have several green thumbs but no botanical knowledge, and the strange fact I had mums blooming what to me is out of season made me get the camera.

So glad you caught these, Mira.

(22,694 posts)I planted 3 huge pots with the promise of small patio tomatoes for the folks who walk by my locked gates. These tomatoes will be ready to feed the walking neighbors in a couple more weeks.

(44,738 posts)I recall a high school photography class over 50 years ago. Take a camera around the outside of where you live and take 10 pictures. We had a semester to do it. The point being you didnt have to go far to be artistic.
Thanks

(7,880 posts)Slightly OT question...I've never seen what appears to be a multi-purpose pitchfork/shovel device -- what exactly is that tool in the first pic?

(22,694 posts)I will pull it out of the growth and honor it with a portrait photo. You guys encourage me that I plan to post a few more of my environs. Have an eye appointment tomorrow, which involves a shot in the eye, which is why I may be delayed a bit. Yet - I will lay on my pillows recovering and envision how the Lardfather feels on his birthday, Wed. the 14th, and it will bring me solace.
