It’s time to start entering your photos for the July contest. The theme this month is “DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK” Shadow Photography.

The theme was chosen by Mousetoescamper as the winner of the May contest and here is a link to thoughts and examples about this theme:

This thread is for submissions only! I will open a second thread that is for comments only. Please don’t comment in this first one, it throws off the count and throws me into a hissy fit.

Only one entry per person. Please be sure to include a "Title" for your photograph in the Subject line of your post.
The Volunteer Host is allowed to enter the contest.

There will be no extra rules on this Contest beyond keeping your entry no larger than 1024 pixels in its longest dimension and under 675K in file size and limit photo editing to a reasonable amount. We would prefer your photo look like a photograph instead of a digital design. If you aren’t sure, ask the group in a separate thread. You’ll get plenty of feedback to specific questions.


CONTEST LICENSE:

An entrant to this contest, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia or to a linked Gallery and included in a DU Calendar that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

Timeline:
Submissions will run from today July 5th to July 19th. Then I will start the preliminary voting threads.
