(5,147 posts)You know, Burpee's is going to get hold of these pictures and use them in their catalog. You might as well offer to sell them to Burpee's now and save the legal hassle!
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,306 posts)I suspect Burpees has their own photographers. But that was truly sweet of you!

My favorite is the pomegranate.

(156,306 posts)Such plaudits! You will turn my head, I swear.
Thank you so much.
I am loving my new lens for all the great stuff it's giving me, and all of you!
I wasn't sure what that fruit was but I had to capture it. Pomegranate! Thanks for identifying it.

(130,514 posts)you are in for a treat. They are delicious, loaded with Vit C, and make spectacular addition to salads, and many other dishes. I add them to my raw cranberry salsa, and to my steel cut oatmeal when serving, and pomegranate juice is tart and wonderful. Many stores now carry the arils (seeding a pom is messy work!).
In metaphysics and mythology, the pom has many meanings. Feminine energy, new llife, rebirth, good fortune, seeking hidden meanings, and so on.. Persephone ate 4 seeds, and was forced to spend 4 months every year at Hade's side as Queen of the Underworld. www.eluneblue.com and other sites have very interesting information on the metaphysical aspects of poms.
And there are lots of recipes for this beautiful wonder. Enjoy!

(4,630 posts)Beautiful produce. The pictures are like standing in front of the produce racks at the Farmers Market and looking.
Thank you for posting them.

(156,306 posts)I have enough stuff going on to even contemplate such a move.
If I were 20 with boundless energy, it might be different, but I'm not. I've forgotten how to hustle, if I ever knew how!

(156,306 posts)I regularly remind myself of how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place where there are so many opportunities for great fresh food.
I've been told I have a good eye, and it looks like I do. Very lucky for me!
Thank you again for your thoughtful comments!

(15,326 posts)And these do not disappoint. Makes me want to go to the Farmer's Market, but none this week. Boohoo!
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,306 posts)Please forgive my very tardy reply. It's been a bit nuts around here.
I hope your own Farmer's Market will show up very soon for you!
