Related: About this forumSheephole Valley Wilderness
This is the southern mouth of the 195,000-acre Sheephole Valley Wilderness in San Bernardino County, California, with the Calumet Mtns in the background. From here it's fifty+ miles of Mojave Desert to the next road. I got lost out there one moonless night about fifteen years ago. Good times!

Getting lost out there on a moonless night must have been not a lot of fun!
Glad you got out!

I'll have to go check it out.
It's always scary getting lost out in the desert. I try to avoid it. LOL!
A friend of mine took a wrong turn in Joshua Tree just as night was falling. He had us worried until he finally straggled back to the parking lot.
