1. My photo was taken in December 2023.

We were having some pretty good waves during a storm. I love shooting waves like this one; doing so puts you in the center of the action!

2. I finally found the shot I was looking for.

I think it fits the contest a little better. From an old Kodachrome 1983.

3. I was hiking in one of our local parks

And it was a cloudy afternoon. Then the clouds started breaking up to reveal a bright blue sky behind them. I looked down at the pond and saw these reeds and a striking view of the dramatic sky.

7. My entry

was shot October 2021 at Emerald Isle, NC during one of my sunrise beach walks. I love that time of day because the ocean can be so moody from a variety of colors other than blue, and I also love the layered, textured effect of the breaking waves against the cloud bank on the horizon.
