(76,905 posts)I recall when kids were little & we would be on vacation missing dogs terribly. We would always approach dog owners, explain, & beg for a "fix" of some petting time.
Of course, being dog people they always understood & happily shared their beloved companions to a brief fix.
I hope she gets a new pupper soon.

(10,889 posts)Replying, her voice softened, she looked at the ground as she spoke about the six-week-old puppy she lost. She didn't say much. All I said was I was sorry. And I was glad she has become Shadow's friend. And I asked whether she would get another puppy. She looked up, shook her head and said no.
When I saw LoisB's reply to this posting: "This is a wonderful photograph. It would make a great gift for the driver, she has such a genuine smile on her face", I did just that, then decided to multiply that x nine. Nine, because those were the best of the bunch.
Ty SL!

(10,889 posts)exits the van. Shadow follows at heel as driver drops package onto porch and the two return to the van whereupon Puppy gets a second cookie. Driver deals out large Milkbones. And usually Shadow coaxes a third before the van departs, on to its next destination. Thank You!

(10,889 posts)She'd make a great ambassador for sure! And y'know there have been folks who have been sitting and called to her and Shadow has trotted over as if she knows she's about to receive praise and, if lucky, a cookie too! Thank You!

(10,889 posts)"This is a wonderful photograph. It would make a great gift for the driver, she has such a
genuine smile on her face", I sent her the best nine photos of the bunch I took.
And all because of your lovely, timely suggestion. Thank You!
