(8,138 posts)You keep raising the bar.
Now, explain the first one.
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,306 posts)Ah, the first one!
Perhaps you noticed the ocean beyond this structure? There are two dates when it's possible to stand in that keyhole and see the sun setting directly west into the ocean. (I don't remember the dates!)
That's what it is. People line up to see this happen. I haven't tried to do that yet; I thought that there were probably too many already lined up.

(6,819 posts)I enjoy seeing the crafts among the flowers, pastries and produce.
The sharp focus, lighting and composition of the final four photos is outstanding.
These photos are a treasure.
Thanks, Peggy!
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,306 posts)You just bowled me over!
I went back up to look at the final four, and I have to agree. They really turned out! I was afraid that I was too close and that they would be fuzzy--but no! No sharpening was done to those; that's something I can do, but didn't, this time.
I really felt like doing something different this time. The market obliged me.

(78,316 posts)Nothing like that here.
No quality pastries anywhere.
And were those purple bell peppers?
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,306 posts)And yes, those were purple bell peppers--small ones. I'd never seen those before!

These are the things that I aim for but they don't always happen.

(101,007 posts)I have been taking pictures of my garden this summer, now I have to go through them and edit those that are worthy and archive the rest. There are hundreds of photos. But I have some great pictures, they're just not ready to post yet.
Soon.

I'm really glad you enjoyed them.
