'Round the farm Sunday ** Now with a photo of our old dresser to compare with the "new" one. **

Last edited Tue Oct 7, 2025, 10:02 PM - Edit history (2)

This past Friday barn supplies were delivered. It was exciting to see.

The builders showed up only to tell us the county was dragging heels
on the permit. While supplies were unloaded, the builders walked
around the site, took more measurements and went home for the day.
We'll see what tomorrow brings.
Meanwhile, my wife Laurie has been busy re-finishing furniture. She had
already spread new stain on the dresser when she started painting its
drawers.

What the old dresser looked like, featuring our former cat Zip.

The finished dresser.

Our bookcase re-finished.

We can count on Shadow and KC to hold down the fort.

Thanks for stopping by! You're welcome most anytime.

Seeing new things emerge out of old is always fascinating! The dresser is especially fine.

Even before the builders got here, they called to say they were behind schedule. So we wait. Weather's still nice at least.

Would like to see 'before' pics, but, if you're like me, you probably didn't think to take one.

I hope the permit gets through soon. Beauracracy can be so maddening!

Laurie is amazing. Is there anything she can’t do? I love the idea of using two colors of stain on the dresser. I think we have almost the same bookcases! Mr. Diamond was into refinishing many years ago.
It’s a lot of work! But so satisfying when you see the finished product.

I see Shadow and KC are helping by staying out of trouble …..
