(156,153 posts)They were set back from where I was standing a little bit, so I just zoomed out my huge zoom (45 mm, lol) to capture them. Even small zooms can be useful.

(22,227 posts)Especially the flowers - what a glorious array, golden yellow, pure white, a splash of multicolored blooms, and then those gorgeous roses! I love the lumpy, bumpy, colorful beans, too.
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,153 posts)How kind of you!
But I sure agree: the colors were astonishing in their variety and in their intensity.
Those beans really spoke too!

(156,153 posts)I'm glad you do!
Rarely do I know the names of anything I photograph! This is one of those times. I just thought they were so beautiful that I had no choice but to get their picture.

(1,531 posts)Here's a picture of what I found: https://www.gardensonline.com.au/GardenShed/PlantFinder/Show_953.aspx
The common name is Globe Amaranth or Bachelor's Buttons, and it comes in a variety of colors. I found the white variety as I scrolled through the pictures of the varieties available. I hope I found the right plant and I hope to plant some next year! Thanks again for the picture!

(156,153 posts)I am always photographing things that draw my attention; if I don't know what they are, I take their photo anyway!
Good luck with your plantings next year!

CaliforniaPeggy
(156,153 posts)I have no idea what they are. The skin is thick and tough. I should have asked the vendor! They are definitely not avocado.
