(156,495 posts)It's been about a year since I took any moon photos. I didn't even know if I had the energy to capture this tonight. But I got it.
I couldn't be happier!

(32,901 posts)I don't see as many posts by you these days. I hope you are doing well.

(156,495 posts)I am doing OK. I don't know if you know, but I do have lung cancer; a tumor in my right lung that I will soon be having surgery to remove. I will announce this news once I have a surgery date and that will be in GD.
The medication I'm taking to fight the cancer has some unpleasant side effects, which leave me with less energy and drive than I normally have. And this accounts for my reduced participation here.
Tonight I felt quite good and the moon cooperated! So I was able to get this photo. I'm pretty tired and my bedtime is near. Pretty sure I'll sleep well!

(32,901 posts)I am in remission from lung cancer. While I have some shortness of breath, I am doing okay. I hope for the same good results for you.
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,495 posts)I expect to be short of breath too, since they're going to take out the whole lobe where the cancer is.
May your news continue to be good.

(156,495 posts)I have to admit that seeing those craters show up that well pleased me so much! The moon almost looks 3 dimensional to me.

(40,295 posts)If you were still taking moon photos, Peggy. And today first thing, I saw your post! I missed them! And this one is a beaut!
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,495 posts)I've missed taking those photos too but since my energy is severely lacking, there was no way. Somehow, yesterday, I felt stronger than usual. And then I was able to catch this photo.
Thank you for liking it this much!

(27,511 posts)I hope you are coping well while waiting for surgery. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, I wanted the surgery immediately, which of course didn't happen. I found that wait to be the hardest party of the procedures. I hope that your wait will be easier, and the end result a positive outcome!
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,495 posts)I am quite frustrated with all this waiting. I had no idea that these decisions can take months. Glad to hear that I'm not alone! So far, this is the hardest part of the whole procedure. I appreciate your generous thoughts! And of course, I'm happy that you are enjoying my photo!

(156,495 posts)Anything that I can do to bring mystical beauty into the world, I will do! It's difficult when you don't feel well.
I was inspired by the clear skies and the sight of the moon smiling down at all of us! And that gave me the strength to take the photo.
