NO COMMENTS IN THE SUBMISSION THREAD, PLEASE!
IT THROWS OFF THE COUNT WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE HOW MANY ENTRIES WE ACTUALLY HAVE.
This is the place for your comments on the entries and for any questions about the contest.

The link for contest submissions is: https://democraticunderground.com/1036164055

Thanks,
George McG

I once posted this image in a previous DU photo contest, some years ago, then an hour later I deleted it and exited the contest. I have issues about showing my photos to others, especially competitively. I've always been both proud of this image and reluctant to share it. There it is.

For context, this was the view from my campsite late one afternoon in early May 2019, en route from Northern California to central Arizona. At 7,000+ ft it was still pretty chilly at night, and it rained a bit too. It was my first full year of half time retirement, and I was feeling pretty good. A happy memory.

It really is quite an improvement. I use a fast film speed because I’m usually shooting hummingbirds.

I shoot everything at ISO 1600 or higher, so the application comes in handy from time to time.
