Fourth thoughts on the Fifth. (After midnight quiet has returned.)

Our neighbors were fond of fireworks tonight. But not all of us.
Shadow's been staying close all evening.

KC seemed content enough on his windowsill.

They're both asleep now.

I must say, however, hearing loud and close explosions alludes to musket and cannon fire at the very beginning. During the First War. Revolutionary, all of it. How strange to sit at a computer knowing, owing this freedom to so so many whose sacrifices preceded these present-times.

Makes a person grateful. Eternally. I wish us all ongoing Independence.

Speaking of Grateful ~ * very nice Jerry G. riff just after three minutes in *

I know my dog never did. He couldn't see the fireworks, he could only hear these terrifying noises that had no visible explanation. His favorite safe place was hiding under my computer desk, until the scary noises stopped. Sometimes he'd find a dropped potato chip or cheeto there, so life was good.

A couple of Milk Bones seemed to help. Thanks!
