Hi! About July's Photo contest.

Prelims are scheduled to begin tomorrow but I was hoping to postpone until Thursday or Friday due to all the extra activity in General Discussion with the Zimmerman verdict. It could be argued that people need a diversion right now but I'm thinking people need the time to grieve and vent. Also, as Mira so wonderfully stated in another post, the photographs can get the attention they deserve if we wait a few days.

Is it OK if we wait?

There is never a dull moment on DU when the group is chasing one thing or another.

always "chasing one thing or another" but I would suggest that this is much different... I have a heavy heart and the injustice done is very serious to many of us...

5. I could do that. Or I could close submissions at midnight tonight as planned

and just postpone the Prelims.

I'll probably wait to see how the vote goes and decide. Maybe close submissions Tuesday night instead.

I'm OK going with less than 30 entries but a few more would be nice.

So if anyone is procrastinating - get busy!

I'll post prelims on Thursday and keep submissions open until the last possible minute. (or 30 photos)
