I am in awe.

The textures and colors just blow me away...

Esp. the textures. Everything looks so velvety and soft...

Wow. Thank you!

I have a 125 gallon captive bred/raised reef tank in our living room that I recently began putting together.

These are my first specimen...

Would love to have a big reef someday. I have a 20 gallon nano on my office desk.

What do you do about aiptasia eradication. It's driving me nuts!

My father built/installed that tank years back, still maintains it occasionally...

He does a lot at Seneca Park, too.

deep sea diving with fancy equipment, and did not know how to frame all my questions.
I once had a 50 gal. aquarium so I can imagine a bit of what you are doing and the work and the joy and the expense involved.
Congratulations all the way around. Phenomenal color and clarity.
BTW I used filtered water through my water filter on tap. It kept the aquarium much clearer. Not that yours could be any better than this!

I use RO water exclusively for all my water changes; and I do 5 gallon changes per week; 20 per month to keep the clarity in the tank.

We're taking a vacation to the Florida Keys next month, I may look into renting some gear to get the 'real' thing...we'll see...

Thru a fluke in life I spent a lot of time in the Keys over the last 15 years. Ask me almost anything about anywhere.

They are available through captive breeding.

They have tried extensive reintroduction programs in the wild, to no avail...we're destroying our planet.

I want to cry every time. It's really hard to take.

There's an acronym for the threats:

HIPPO

Habitat loss
Invasives (Introduced Species)
Population
Pollution
Overconsumption

Population should be first, though the acronym wouldn't work. But it is human population that drives all the other factors. Without a reduction in human population, there really is no hope of making gains in the other areas.

I never had success with anemones. I did have a convict worm goby that lived to be 19 years old. He was about a foot long. He died last year.

For reference, not mine.
