Hi everyone! About the December Contest.

My husband is having surgery on Tuesday and that comes with some recovery time, so I have a very busy schedule ahead of me. Which is why I'm letting you know the December Contest Theme now.

I'll be taking Blind Submissions beginning on December 10th. Prelims will run from 14th-17th, with the final running the 17th -20th. Winners announced shortly after. The goal is to finish up before Christmas.

You may submit your entry early. Just send it to me in DU-Mail.

Theme: In a Row

Persons, places, things (any noun) in a row.

B&W or Color.

Post processing limited to brightness/contrast/ lighting, color balance/ saturation, sharpness, blur effect, cropping/angle adjustment, etc. Just basic processing.

Don't forget! The Autumn Contest will also be running during December. So it will be a busy contest month.

Thanks! Looking forward to your entry!

Solly

I don't think I'll have time to take a new pic...

But I believe I have some that would work. I usually hesitate to enter, since the photographers here are so very good......way better than I am!

you would not do this to yourself! We need you and your photos.
There is a special stamp on yours every time.
Your golden little bird in the surf at the ocean for instance is one of my very favorites ever shown here in all the many years I've been hanging out.

I've learned a lot, and so have you. Onward and upward.

Yes, the bird pic was a good one. A very lucky shot, if I may say so.

I'll look through my archives to see what I have that might be good for this contest...

I will be thinking of you.
Please accept my offer of help with the contest, if needed.

I think the theme is PERFECT. It's been a while since we filled up a contest with entries, and I suspect this will do it. I sat down and went through Picasa and scrolled, and if your eyes are peeled to spot it repetitions are abundant in the photographs. A matter of pulling out the cropping tool, if necessary. It's not going to be difficult, and will be just right for a month with Christmas as well as the Autumn contest going on.

After 10 minutes or so of scrolling I have quite a few in a folder to look at seriously for an entry.
The difficulty will be what to pick.

I'm trying to not focus on possible complications and hope things go well enough to work on the contest while making sure he's comfy at home. But if I need help I will definitely ask.

I hope we get 30 entries.

Looking forward to your entry!

Thanks, again!

He is bummed about getting older now. More aches and pains...sometimes more medical procedures.

Thanks for asking!

I'm a fan of patterns in photography, so I have a bunch of these. Just a matter of sorting them out - assuming I don't take something new.

Thanks!

Sorry for the shorthand. I was making a quick stop earlier.

He's doing fine. Resting at home for the next week or so. He'll do a follow up in a week and we'll see how he's doing then. He's enjoying the sleep and the pampering.

I'm enjoying having him home more. Not sure how long that will last. lol

I just knew I would be busy helping out my husband over the next week or so and couldn't run the December contest during the first part of the month. Hopefully DitwL will post about it soon. I just hope DitwL isn't angry with me for posting the December contest announcement. I honestly didn't think to check. I was so concerned about my husband and what I needed to do that I didn't think to ask DitwL when the Autumn contest would run.

I feel like an ass now.

Hope your hubby continues to improve.

It's such a crazy time of year anyway.

We missed fall here due to our trip to Europe. I've been going through my photos and have several
that are possibilities for the December contest. May have to skip fall.

He's getting over his surgery but now we both have the flu. We figure we brought it home with us from the hospital. Lots of flu cases there during his brief stay. Oh, well. Life is good even through the sneezes.

single rose buds--that were my centerpiece for Thanksgiving--
in the light coming through a window next to our fireplace, but decided to go with a humorous
shot taken at the Berlin Zoo for the December contest.

Hubby liked this photo of the roses--which I rotated 180 degrees-- and titled Rose Shadows.
