A few shots from this past Sunday, near Winters, CA. Bees doing their thing amongst the almond tree blossoms.

(12,530 posts)I haven't posted in the photography forum in several months, and I've forgotten how much fun it is. My favorite thing in the world to do is go out and shoot landscapes or other nature scenes (I'd like to do portraiture too, but that's a whole different issue). But it's all the more fun when someone likes the pictures. So thank you--I really appreciate your comment.
As to the shots, I agree with you. For the last one, I wanted to show a few more of the blossoms. I kind of wanted to show the endless row upon row upon row of trees, with bee boxes set out every few rows, but I kind of blew out the highlights on those shots, so I can't show them.

(19,459 posts)I used to post quite a bit but was too busy to do much photography over the last year.
I haven't owned anything but Canon or Panasonic point-and-shoots for the last 25 years (used to have a Canon film SLR). I just came back Sunday to ask for advice on a purchase: whether to get the new Canon G1 X, or the Nikon D5100 selling at Costco.
Browsing through the posts also reminded me of how much I've enjoyed this group, and that it's time to make time for some photography.
I live over in the East Bay and have done many drives through the orchards in the Sacramento valley. I keep trying to capture that unique feeling of shaded coolness under the trees on a hot summer day, but haven't quite managed it so far.
Several others had commented on your Point Reyes photos so I didn't comment there, but those shots are also very, very nice. I think your work is excellent, and reflects a very good eye.
