Update on my cancer.

In two weeks I begin a 6-8 week course of radiation, for five days a week.

I need 3 weeks post-op before the treatments can begin.

The doctors removed and biopsied thirty lymph nodes. Of those thirty, they found cancer in one.

Not as good as I'd hoped but it could have been worse.

Everything is healing nicely. The graft on my cheek and the wound at my neck.

Stitches come out on Tuesday.

I would like to be able to say I feel upbeat....but I don't. Not right now. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm not laid so low all I want to do is wallow......but it's close.

Thank you for being there!

You've all been a big help!

I love you all!!

that they caught it now!

You will live, and you will thrive. First you have to walk through a dark valley for which I am sad.Til you get to the end of the tunnel where the light is we can hold some lanterns til you get there.

Thanks for letting us come along in on your tribulations. It's so much better to know than to surmise.

I was cursing that they found one of thirty lymph nodes with cancer....until I realized how lucky you were if there is cancer in any of them to have had that one showing up. They could have taken a different node and you would have thought that there was nothing to worry about. At least now you can treat this as a problem to be overcome.

I am sorry that you have to go through this. I would not expect upbeat, but don't allow yourself to wallow. It serves no good purpose. We are rooting for you.

yourself to wallow for a bit before you start fighting. It can be healing as long as you don't allow yourself to get stuck there. Sending vibes, wishes, prayers and whatever else I can think of that treatments go smoothly and easy on you with the best outcome, a clean bill of health. Hugs! If any of the tightly close buds ever get around to blooming I will get a flower shot for your flower thread.

You take it moment by moment. My guiding motto was: "This, too, shall pass."

BTW, my oncologist told me that, a few decades ago, the treatment for my kind of cancer consisted of giving the patient morphine to ease his final days. Medical science has made great strides, and you'll be one of the beneficiaries. Looking forward to welcoming you to the survivors' club when the last treatment ends!

Prayer to Saint Peregrine

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty," "The Wonder-Worker," because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.
For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.
(Pause here and silently recall the names of the sick for whom you are praying)
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen.

You will get through this, my brother had stage 3 throat cancer a few years back and thankfully he pulled through...we would pray to St. Peregrine. Stay strong my friend, and know we all love you!

You have a quite a lot of life to live! Just allow yourself to wallow for awhile, without judgment, and then alkalanize, oxygenate, meditate, de-stress, and soak up a bit of sun while you are photographing!

We love you!!!! You have lots of positive vibes surrounding you at all times. Really feel that healing energy.
