On Faith
Photograph by Peter Essick, National Geographic
In Californias Central Valley, water in wildlife refuges is down by around 30 percent. Here, migratory geese on their journey north congregate on the Faith Ranch near the San Joaquin River National Wildlife Refuge, one of the Central Valleys few scraps of native wildlife habitat.

(90,764 posts)3. Birds are incredible creatures.
I could watch them for hours....and have.

(17,005 posts)4. I have lots of backyard visitors for years feeding birds.
I give the Blue Jays raw peanuts, and I get a kick how they are so fussy going after the biggest peanut, drop them light ones to reach for another full heavy peanut. And I love how they call out to other Blue Jays when I put the peanuts out.
Cardinals are one of my favorites. I just love all the photos you have done Solly Mack on all the different kind of birds.
Looking forward to all your future photos my friend.
