Anyone use any "painting" programs

I use Topaz Impressions to create "paintings"... I put it in quotes so I don't take away from the very talented people who can actually paint...

I used it on these because they have a chain link fence around the building now while it is under construction... cloning it out would take way to much time... here all I had to do was clone out the posts... the rest blends in with the painting to become un noticeable...

Other times I just like the effect

So does anyone else use "painting" programs?

would love to see the results... or hear of what your using

Very nice. I also have used FotoSketcher and Perfect Effects 8, plus I am trying out Topaz's addins for Photoshop Elements.

Thanks for pointing this one out.

which I used on this one

you get 30 days to play with it... I picked it up during one of their sales which they have often...

I create a color, B&W and painting on many of my photos... sometimes... then I look at them and decide which I upload to my sales site... sometimes all of them make it... sometime only one... This one has sold a couple of copies...

I love the plugins... but it does feel like cheating real painters... The basic effect is quick... Fine tuning takes time... I normally will create several versions and then take them into photoshop and blend the parts of each I like... or get rid of things that I do not like...

I have used glow just to add extra color to ice that is backlit by the sun... its about the only time I use it with regular photos... for now

I recently used the sketch element in Gimp to turn a photo into a sketch for a wine label.

That said, I like your results with Topaz.

Marilyn Sholin. I've never looked at any of her workshops or YT videos, but she is a fine artist. She makes some great images with Corel Painter's capabilities. I may have to try it out sometime (I have Corel Painter 2015) and see what I can make of things
