Related: About this forumIt’s Winter for sure - for the moment anyway. Walked around the neighborhood - took a few pictures
Its not too cold, we have snow and kept our power. The wind is whistling fiercely, but other than that nothing prevented me from taking a 20 min. walk with my camera. My neighborhood is so diverse - wonderfully - you can find anybody or anything, the smallest most unassuming house in one of the pictures is mine, and within less than 5 min walk lives Melissa Harris-Perry. I kid you not. She has a job at a local University.

(22,380 posts)tried to get on my deck to feed the birds, and cannot get the door open. And as for you, I have learned you will produce beautiful work even under trying circumstances.
Stay warm!

(22,380 posts)Thanks for the added perspective, Alfredo. This time I uploaded them in the next size up in photobucket, and what we are seeing is the new size to be in the classic view.
It looks like there is nothing to it.
Gracias a Dios. Because I' m not up to learning much at the moment. I just want to listen to the wind......outside.

Very nice house in the last image.

(22,380 posts)Some of the old Mansions are in good repair, and the older I get, the more I appreciate them. I used to only like things that were contemporary.
edited to add:
I did not realize until I downloaded this one that the roof of the upstairs porch is painted in the wonderful robin's egg blue that one finds in almost all the old mansions in the Deep South, such as in New Orleans. It is supposedly painted the color of the sky to trick bad spirits and make them think they can fly away and can't come into the house, or some such. Must google and learn about it again.

(60,010 posts)We painted the roof of our carport a tinted blue, too light to even be seen by our eyes, but have no more insects flying around inside.
Darker blue, like doors, is supposed to keep the evil spirits away.
In keeping with Southern sensibility, we painted our front door a happy shade of blue-ish.
Note: It does NOT keep religion peddlers away.
I was gonna ask about that house, cause as you know, people build new houses to look like the old ones, and it was hard to tell from all the snow which was which.
I am SO glad you shared your neighborhood. It must be so lovely in spring.
