(90,758 posts)I know, I know. Weird.
Not because it is an industrial site, but because of the visual.
I also like silos, trains, the tracks....and, as always...power lines.

(90,758 posts)I love them all, but number 2 is my favorite.
I can't explain why I enjoy such things, I just do. Maybe the lines.

(19,459 posts)I'm not sure why. I just really like it.

(60,071 posts)Black and White movies, photos, and TV's are part of my history. I have shoeboxes of black and white memories.
I think Black and White movies had a huge influence on me. Go pick up some Orson Welles movies at the library. My favorite is "The Third Man."
The classic film noir movie, "Out of The Past" is another choice. Fellini's "La Strada" is beautiful, and so is the story.

From where did you take the top photo - that's the Richmond-San Rafael bridge, isn't it?
The bottom one looks like the Carquinez bridge...is that right?

This is the view looking to the right from the edge of the parking area in the image posted above. It sits at the end of the highest promontory overlooking Suisun Bay. There are actually three bridge structures; two auto bridges, and a railroad bridge. The bridges are at the left of the frame, and I think that is the Martinez refinery complex in the center distance:

Images #2 and #3 are of the old Carquinez bridge; alongside it is the newer Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge, built in 2003. I took that image from a restaurant called The Dead Fish, in Crockett, which overlooks that part of the Carquinez Strait. If you're ever there, and like seafood, it has good food and outdoor seating with a view over the water. Especially nice on a summer evening, although there isn't enough convenient parking if the place is busy.

(20,886 posts)I like that soft color with the hard industrial lines.

(19,459 posts)I was pleased that it came out as sharp and clear as it did, although my auto-ISO set at 3200, which produced a fair amount of noise.

(19,459 posts)I have never been able to acquire a taste for it. Our girls grew up on it, locally raised by friends.
