Mattole valley, Humboldt County, California, part one

My partner, my brother, and I took a drive through the Mattole valley in Humboldt County, California last Saturday. We took a bunch of photos. I'll spread some of them over a couple of threads rather than post them all at once.

On edit: Here is the ongoing gallery: https://mcamann.smugmug.com/Misc-photos/

"
...
Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time;

Footprints, that perhaps another,
Sailing o’er life’s solemn main,
A forlorn and shipwrecked brother,
Seeing, shall take heart again.

Let us, then, be up and doing,
With a heart for any fate;
Still achieving, still pursuing,
Learn to labor and to wait.

From: A Psalm of Life
BY HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW

And great women too...

Thank you for the pictures.

And there's water in that river!

Thank you for this glimpse of beauty early on a Monday.
