(19,459 posts)But I live in the SF Bay Area and we have mostly the type of terrain in this image. Some heavily forested areas, and some mountains, but mostly this. If I turn in the opposite direction (East) and head about 30 miles on I-80, then I'm out in the Central Valley; pretty much flat as a pancake and relatively treeless (except for tons of orchards) for a long, long ways.

(19,459 posts)We have had so much rain this year that we are no longer in drought in our part of California. Everything is extra lush, which will probably mean a lot more dry stuff to burn come summer.
