But I live in the SF Bay Area and we have mostly the type of terrain in this image. Some heavily forested areas, and some mountains, but mostly this. If I turn in the opposite direction (East) and head about 30 miles on I-80, then I'm out in the Central Valley; pretty much flat as a pancake and relatively treeless (except for tons of orchards) for a long, long ways.

We have had so much rain this year that we are no longer in drought in our part of California. Everything is extra lush, which will probably mean a lot more dry stuff to burn come summer.

You flew 4000 miles, drove 3 hours, hiked in for two days, in snow, uphill. Then waited 6 hours for it to stop raining.

Actually, there was none of that. I did, however, get yelled at by the tasting room manager for being in an area that was off limits.
