Ideas for May contest

1. Capturing a soul. (based on the idea in some stories that certain indigenous people were afraid that having their picture taken would capture their soul.

2. Self portrait in black and white.

3. Photographing the sacred.

4. Memories of a different time and place.


Quite open to discussion.

Is a type of photo that can be executed as one that looks into the soul.

Different time and place seems kinda similar to last months contest IMO.

. . . a portrait or self portrait in black and white that captures the soul.

3. I like the idea, BUT (and it's a big sorry but)...

You know our stalker site will be all over it. I, personally, would not post a personal of myself on this site only to have it turn into a thread on "that site." Just saying. Maybe my concerns are overblown, but they've had a field day any time we've done "personal picture" threads in the past.

I agree with the self portrait concern in the thread above.

I'm so new to the Group I almost hesitate to chime in...

5. I like the first one a LOT (I may even have my photo for that already:))

I think self portraits are probably not the best idea for Atman's reasons and other reasons

I like the third

and I agree with whoever said that the fourth is reminiscent of what we just did.

Capturing the soul seem interesting but I need some discussion on what that would look like.

No to self portrait for reasons too many to name.

Memories - could be really interesting if we could be really creative!

I've spent total a few years there. Photography paradise.
