(31,382 posts)in the rules statement, or just need to edit that for now to one and see how submissions go?
Host is opening submissions to allow a second entry for photographers.
Corrected. Not yet.
Fantastic photo!

(149,583 posts)I literally gasped when I saw it.
It's perfect. Edgy and mysterious!

(31,382 posts)From a display of masks in the Royal BC Museum in Victoria, BC. Serendipitous photo. Big display case in a darkened room where the lights would go on/off to highlight individual masks before the whole case lit up and an audio started about the collection. Just happened to be sitting in a spot where this mask was highlighted right in front of me and able to grab a shot.

(22,380 posts)in the Fraumunster Cathedral at the Lake of Constance?
There was a really dedicated person who did not allow me to take photos. I'm so glad you were able to get that wonderful picture.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,583 posts)It probably wasn't there, but I will check my original file.
Thank you for your lovely comments!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,583 posts)It was in Mainz, Germany.
Sorry I took so long to find it, but my vacation photos (and this was one of those) are all on my laptop and I have to remember to look when I'm here!
Mira
(22,380 posts)I hope it was OK to do the research and you found good other things to look at. That's what happens to me when I hunt through photos for any reason. I was surprised you had this wonderful shot if they were Zurich photos, because we were monitored and could not take photos there. Annoyed me no end.
I have never been to Mainz and did not know there were Chagall windows there as well!
Thanks again.

(149,583 posts)I use my laptop daily and my desktop more frequently. I prefer my desktop since the keyboard and mouse are more responsive.
I did find something else very good to look at too and I had some fun there.
No worries!

(60,071 posts)It is rare for men to dream in color.
mnhtnbb
(31,382 posts)about the dreaming, and the shot, too!
You made me google dreaming. https://www.verywell.com/facts-about-dreams-2795938
I have never thought about dreams only being in B & W for some people, although, apparently, some people do report that. You know, my husband is a shrink (psychiatrist and psychoanalyst) and has always considered dream analysis an important part of therapy. Over the 32 years we've been married, it's sometimes been fun to have a built-in dream analyst! The operative word there is "sometimes"!

(60,071 posts)Mostly my dreams are in urban settings.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked my image.

(14,889 posts)the May photo contest submissions. You know...we really have a bunch of great photographers here!

(14,040 posts)but please submit...my submissions never win (just once) in years.

(10,345 posts)I have a spiritual obsession with streetlights. (Sounds weird right?)
But they just seem so angelic in the right ways. Your photo reminds me of one of my own that I wanted to submit for this contest!
I'll submit it when I get home, if not to win, just for the sake of art.
justiceischeap
(14,040 posts)Look forward to seeing your submission.
retrowire
(10,345 posts)Forgot to submit yesterday, I'll remember today!
retrowire
(10,345 posts)It's just that your photo has so much more context. Really, the tombstones are death obviously, but the light emanating from the branches of the half dead tree is so ON POINT with the title of the photo, what lay beyond? Truly.
I'm a fan!
justiceischeap
(14,040 posts)Yours is nicely done as well. Opposite sides of the same coin.

(26,044 posts)I saw the theme of this month's contest, and thought "I've got the ideal choice to end my multi-year 'retirement' from these contests."
Then I looked at the submission thread.
Oh, well...back to lurking...

(31,382 posts)I would have loved to participate in this contest--great theme--but I need to get realistic about July if
the surgery for knee replacement goes ahead as scheduled.
please accept my offer to do the contest for you should you win.
PLEASE.
mnhtnbb
(31,382 posts)I thought I could work around the surgery if I had to--and probably could--but I just don't know what the future holds.
mnhtnbb
(31,382 posts)I already have 8 appointments scheduled related to the knee replacement--not including the day of surgery. CalPeggy knows, I'm sure!
Mira
(22,380 posts)and happy to do this thing for you should it come to pass. The entries are utterly diverse, creative and expressive. This will be a contest that gives pause.
