(22,380 posts)and I thought you were at the ocean in Florida.
Where did you get this photo, how did you get so close, and what did you feed it to make it smile like that?
It's AWESOME.
Reminds me of the photos of Mth44sc, he used to win almost every other contest with swamp and critter photos par excellence.
Though it's not intended (or possible) to upstage you, I'm going to get a crocodile photo I took a few months back when I was in a rubber boat very near it and scared out of my mind. Crocs and gators look different at the snout/mouth, maybe my photo can show that.
here it is:

(22,758 posts)my alligator lives in this small waterway behind my Dad's place in Lakeland, FL (near Orlando)... my Dad said he used to feed him marshmallows until he realized it wasn't really a good idea to feed the alligators...

(22,380 posts)I remember well my utter consternation and the feeling of dread that overcame me when I learned WHY so many private pools in the Orlando area have entire cage enclosures, full sides, and a top.
I was in the Bayou near New Orleans on a swamp ride, and they put marshmallows in the water to attract the alligators.
My camera had a dead battery. So I was able to guard my life much better.

(22,380 posts)that you can leave one with the host ahead of time, or with me even, it could be entered in a blind contest, or in a regular one.
I would hate to have a contest without your photo in it. BTW- I adored your powerful sky photo and was all but sure it might be yours before I found out that it really was.

(46,436 posts)I know I've got lots of river pictures, but I'm just kind of drawing a blank on where they are and which one to use. We'll see...

(22,380 posts)and the quality of your photographs, I suspect this is but a small sampling of what is in your files.
If you're asking for feedback: the Dan river shot is the most unusual - a feat really - glorious in color, and not something you'd easily see again.
You got down to the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon?
How? On the back of a mule?
