(156,303 posts)Believe me, I am well aware of my luck. Every day I am grateful for the beautiful home and the beautiful surroundings here.
I will live out my life right here.
Luck brought me and my husband here, but determination will see us stay.

(20,202 posts)I hope you're not in an earthquake zone or a wildfire/mudslide zone. I'm not trying to jinx you or anything, but sunny California has it's downsides as well. Anyplace can be a paradise with the correct attitude.
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,303 posts)Our house is as sturdy as can be built and has endured quakes without trouble.
We're nowhere near any place that could have a mudslide. It is hilly here, but there's lots of well-watered vegetation with deep roots to hold the ground.
Well, unless we have a Richter 9 quake!

(20,202 posts)From your posts it sounded like you were a recent transplant to Cali. I wasn't aware you were a "lifer'.

(19,459 posts)Up north weve had a ton of ground fog out in the Sacramento Valley this month.
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,303 posts)I think we generally have fog early in the A.M., but I'm not usually awake to see it!

CaliforniaPeggy
(156,303 posts)That is interesting. It looks amazing on my iPad. And pretty good on my computer.

(12,182 posts)but it sure shows a lovely bit. Mornings like this seem a little magical, don't they?
CaliforniaPeggy
(156,303 posts)I am in SoCal, not far from LAX. There are vistas like this one all over the place, since we have a lot of hilly areas.
It was very magical. I was truly lucky to see it, much less photograph it.
