(149,580 posts)I look at these doors, and I wonder who has walked through them, on what sort of business........
The historical aspect of these doors just jumps out at me.
Any idea how old they are? Where did you photograph them?
Happy New Year!

(19,459 posts)I took this in Rome last September. I have no idea how old they are. I just happened upon them on a narrow side street while walking around in the Colosseum area.

(14,489 posts)Looks like they wisely included replaceable kick plates at the bottom.
It occurred to me that if you could recall the street name, you might get a view of the building front on Google street view and identify the origin.

(51,584 posts)my American friends and I found it really difficult to live with so much wonderful sights surrounding us where ever we turned our heads. It is almost impossible not to become jaded. Art was everywhere...from the simplest old doorknobs to common marble steps. It really is almost too much and becomes overwhelming.

(22,380 posts)I can't even wrap my head around the history this door has participated in. It looks "wormy" but in a good way.

(19,459 posts)I could definitely see that.
This is a crop. I wish I could have posted the larger image, but the framing just didn't work.
