My family abandoned me at a high kill animal control facility. At 11 years old, I should be spending my golden years in a home being doted on, not sitting at animal control, hoping to survive. When my friends at Orphan Annie Rescue in Atlanta took me in, I was in rough shape. My eye had a severe ulcer and had to be removed immediately, and many of my teeth were rotted and needed removal as well. On top of that, I was so matted I couldn't walk, I had an upper respiratory infection, a large sore on my body, I was emaciated, and my nails were so long that they were curling under. Thanks to modern medicine and amazing foster and adoptive homes, I am doing great! My new family reports that I am a happy, loving little girl and being spoiled rotten.

Here's Pearl at her foster home in 2017.

But I think I have a representative photo of what winter looks like here.

I look and there are wonderful entries already. I'm especially enamored with one of them, can't wait to vote for it.
