those and crocuses were the first flowers to pop out of the brown ground.

Thank you for commenting, it all so easily happens in my kitchen in the afternoon light. In that last one I think it may be the diagonal, and also the varying depth dimension..

What color filter did you apply to the B&W?

is turn on b/w in the editing program built into my mac computer. Probably sharpened it a bit and played with light/dark til I liked the contrast.

There are plugins to enhance the editor. I use Tonality for my black and white. I also use GIMP for resizing and to do tweaks absent from Photos.
