Especially the drops!

Love the texture of the petals and the shape overall.

I wonder what it would look like in color.

We're going to have heavy rain tomorrow, so they will take a beating. I'm afraid they will break

Or dunk them in cold water to break the sticky coating on the closed buds. Was one of my favorite odd tasks at the flower shop I worked at some years ago.

Your photo is lovely. I like the rhythm of the droplets, and the petals look massive like they are of concrete.

I guess ants like that sticky stuff, and in return the peony petals are freed to open, rain or no rain.

Last week we received 8 inches in one day, but, tg, the standing water didn't threaten the house. My peeps in Houston weathered last night okay.

It is hard to avoid living on a flood plain.

A man on my former mail route put his house on cinder blocks in response to a 100 year flood. A few years later another flood hit. It was a foot higher than what he built for. We had 10” in one day. In places the flood water was 18’.

I had to drive some 30 miles out of my way to find a road that wasn’t flooded. I had to drive to the next county to find a safe route home.

So much texture. Love the raindrops.

I had peonies in Missouri and Nebraska. Never had much of a garden here in NC because we had so much shade from all the trees. Now I have two pots of pansies on my balcony and a potted dwarf spruce. That's it. So I really get vicarious pleasure from the flower photos posted here. Thanks!
