San Francisco Bay; looking across Ft. Baker and the Presidio Marina (from Vista Point on the Marin side of the Golden Gate) toward Berkeley and Albany on the far shore. The line of grayish-white structures on the shoreline below the tanker are old gun battery positions that used to be part of the bay's defensive system.I'm really not sure why I like this image as much as I do. I caught it at a small outdoor market in Barcelona. The day was very hot and humid, and the lady was using the fan to cool off. If you also find this photo interesting, please comment as to what you like about it.
Some balconies on a building front in Barcelona.

(149,611 posts)I do like all of these, very much.
Is the first photo via drone? It's great.
I too like the one of the lady staying cool with the fan. I like it because it's a slice of life photo, and she was completely caught up in her own activities, totally unaware of what you were doing. It's a lovely random photo of a moment in time.
And the balconies are gorgeous. It took me a moment to realize that they are of the same balconies; just that the lower photo is more close-up than the first one. Great detail!
Hey, you can do random any time you want!

(19,459 posts)The first photo was taken from Vista Point, on the northern (Marin) side of the Golden Gate. It's very popular with tourists because of the views across the bay to the city, as well as the Golden Gate bridge.
And thank you for giving me some insight as to what is interesting about the Lady and the Fan photo.

(19,459 posts)I think that is certainly part of it.
There is also something about the balance between lady and fan within the frame that appeals to me.

(7,367 posts)What I like about the market capture is it reminds me of the type of picture I'm usually drawn to in, say, Nat Geo or similar mags.

It does have that feel, and it's rare that I can get it.
