Your nightly insect photo, Kirby's back swimmer.

This is tentatively Notonecta kirbyi, Kirby's backswimmer. This specimen was collected at Carlsbad Caverns National Park, New Mexico (by a park employee who sent it to me).

Or is that the bug? It is hard to tell if it is real or a drawing of the bug. Interesting little creature.

It does look like a drawing, although that doesn't matter. It's gorgeous!
