(27,813 posts)I particularly love the second one - the way it captures the vivid reds and oranges, but also the subtlety of the shades of grey in the distance.

(19,459 posts)I'm also drawn to the palm tree in the second one. Something about it appeals to me.

(149,517 posts)Subtle beauty with the light! I especially like the last one--something about the rolling hills being so graceful with the colors flowing all over.
Thank you for sharing these.

(19,459 posts)Just goes to show how little I know about your state.
I did drive through East Texas a few years back, and I thought it was quite lovely, enough so that we considered moving that direction. We didn't make the move, but I wouldn't mind taking a road trip through there again.
I am retired, and my wife retires on December 2, so I expect that we will eventually hit the road and take a longer tour through your state.

(19,459 posts)I really enjoyed your posts from Deutschland.
My wife retires on December 2, and we are seriously considering scrapping our planned 14-day road trip through the Northeast next year and planning a trip to Germany.
Thank you for your gracious comments.
Wow about your consideration of honoring Germany with a visit - she will repay you solidly. When the time comes and you have questions, try me.
Yes I'm home. It was a pretty tough re-entry and a hard month. But I'm doing it! They sent me home to help get rid of 45.
