to share with all of us who are hunkered down at home.
I haven't been outside a 4 or 5 block radius of my apartment for several weeks. Made a trip to the store this morning and I couldn't believe how spring has sprung!
Here's a shot of blue, white, and fresh green taken from my balcony.

Thanks.

We live in the country on a farm. Closest neighbour a mile away. I am about to go check on my beehives.

(17,536 posts)For the last four weeks, it has been beautiful Spring-like weather. The woods around me have all leafed out and are gorgeous. My fruit trees are either blooming or producing fruit. Mountain Laurel, Jasmine, Crab Apples and wild Azaleas have bloomed. I will have Blueberries a month earlier than normal. Plums, Pears, Loquat, Calamondin, Lemons and Limes are all growing like there is no virus. I hope I will be here in June and July to eat them.
We hit 90 degrees late last week, and so, to add insult to injury, my HVAC unit died..... I will be looking for a good Republican business full of hoax-believing workers to come replace the thing.
Replacing HVAC is not cheap.
Do you have a photo to share of something outside? Just a cell phone shot works, which is what I posted.

(17,536 posts)But I have yet to decipher how to to post them here. It may be that I don't have that privilege.
I have already experienced the first sticker shock. It is funny, the price to replace the HVAC units are half the cost of my first house.

(6,589 posts)Most things that fail on HVAC systems are easy/cheap to replace if you know what you're doing. I've fixed my own HVAC system several times, the usual failures you expect in an older system, like the startup capacitor for the outside compressor/fan (about $60-$70), the compressor/fan relay (about $70-$80), & the variable speed fan control module for the air handler (about $400 but more like $1500 if an HVAC company does it).
Sadly, what I see a lot is companies telling people they need a whole new system when all they really need is a capacitor or a relay. Their system could be fixed & continue working for many years for $300-$400, but they get talked into spending $3000-$4000+ on a new system. I personally know one case where a company even convinced a single older woman she needed new ducts ... & charged her $8000. There's a good chance I could have fixed it for well under $500. It's criminal IMHO.
