Experiencing the thrill and novelty of the huge waterand the solitude of sheltering in place.
It would be easy to say that it's all happy and glorious to a dog. But no matter how comfortable she is under those covers, I will never forget her thrill at the ocean.

(149,615 posts)They are both very effective.
But there's something deeply touching about the solitude photo. Her paw is poignant, resting outside of the cover. So beautiful!
Thank you.

(22,380 posts)and thanks.
She is a loud dog. Protective. barks in the front yard, we live on a corner with dog walkers and traffic. She loves to try to attack the city bus for it's size which she thinks equals hers. And she wants me to know about everything and everybody that goes by. Except the dogs are hers. I'm not in those hqppenings.
She barks as long as they walk by. Then stops. Short but, as I said, loud.
A neighbor complained. I looked at him. I smiled wanly. I said: Please just consider for the few short moments she gets on your nerves about just how much i love and need her.
He never said another word, and we see him often on our walks.

(6,587 posts)Did she bark at the waves, and chase them? My Doberman 'Shadow' used to love playing tag with the waves at the lake, what great fun she had! When the waves would thin and fade into the sand, sometimes she'd try to dig them out so she could chase them again.
