Did some flying today.

My friend has a 1974 Cessna 172 that she took me up in for a “confidence flight.” So here are some shots I took on my phone, shaking life a leaf as I was.

I did some student flying in a Cessna 150 in the 1970s before I ran out of money.

2. The [blank] and the [blank] give the location away.

I'm in Alexandria, Virginia. I have a coworker who went to [the big school in that town] and another who retired a few years ago. There's not a cloud in the sky. It's rare to see such a blue sky in the summer here.

Google's satellite views of that city are copyright 202, and yet the trees have the same amount of leaves as the trees in your pictures. Google's images must be only a few days old.

I'll let others have fun guessing.

3. It was a picture perfect day.

No wind at all. And I didn’t label the pictures specifically to see if anyone could figure out where I was 😂😊

4. That's my hometown!

At least I think it is. I think I recognize Woodburn Circle and the new (relatively speaking!) football stadium.

Your pictures don't go quite far enough north to see my old home(s) and grade school.

5. The markings in the end zone and on the 50-yard line clinched it for me. The People Mover, which is

not something you can find in too many places, also caught my eye.

6. One of my college apartments looked right out at the PRT.

It never disturbed us at all! It's like having an electric car drive past your window - just a mild whisper.

I attended the University in the 1970s, and marched in that awesome marching band!

11. If you ever get a chance to fly in a sailplane/glider, go for it!!

40-45 mph and all you hear is the woosh of the wind past the cockpit. You truly feel like a bird..
