As an atheist, I never bother with churches. For obvious reasons.

But I certainly admire the architecture. That church is stunning.

On clear, cloudless, warm sunny days, people would be walking around looking like they had just fallen in love.

I anticipate more problems leaving next week. I came to hunt for an apartment and then I'll return to the US to start the Fall semester teaching (which is going to be a shitshow). Then I'll be back here by November to work on my LLM.
I wish I didn't have to go, but I can't apply for the visa from here.

I went to the University of Essex in 1990-91. The High Street looks great. Haven't been back since 1991.

Thanks for posting!

The envy is pouring out of my body and onto my skin.

Those pictures are absolutely stunning. And I'm not kidding, I wish I were there instead of where I am.

Have fun for all of us!

My wife and I have been lucky enough to circumnavigate the British Isles by rent car several times for as long as five weeks. It is one of our favorite driving tours along with Provence Tuscany. We were actually scheduled to fly to the UK in April, but.....maybe again someday. The closest we made it to Colchester would be Bury St Edmunds, but we have added it to our list for the future. Thank you. Good luck, stay safe, stay well. Cheers!

It's easy when you have a good canvas. Unfortunately, the typical English weather is back: cloudy, cool, and misty.
I have to return to West Virginia next week, where it will be hotter than the surface of the sun, humid, and with mosquitos the size of bald eagles. I'm not looking forward.
