(86,597 posts)I missed it this morning, cloudy. Did you get to see the comet? It was probably near the moon, a bit above it. I saw it Thurs morning off to the left of Venus and the moon, there was some orange thing in between the moon and Venus, it was cool to see. When I looked off behind me to look at Jupiter I saw the ISS fly by! It was an eventful fifteen minutes.
I like to see the moon when it's a sliver like that.

Alas, I didnt see the comet this morning. The sky was already pretty bright.

(86,597 posts)I was out between 4 and 5am. Soon it will only be visible in the evenings as it leaves the solar system.

(6,586 posts)I've always loved Crescent Moon photos.
Lady Luna is giving us her best Mona Lisa smile.
(BTW, have you considered getting a picture of Comet NEOWISE? It's visible in the northern sky after sunset... quite bright, and has a long slender tail. Very photogenic.)

(149,614 posts)The crescent moon is my favorite shape too!
I hadnt thought seriously about trying to catch the comet. I thought it was too far north for that.
I have seen some fantastic pictures of it, and wished I could.

(86,597 posts)I have seen it in the morning and tried to see it the other night but too many trees and I didn't want to go for a hike down the road since we have a territorial skunk in the area. It was too cloudy last night but it's clear again so I'll try again tonight. Maybe I can get a picture.
